Thoughts

I first met Sally when we were young ladies in Lloyds Bank. We crossed paths numerous times, working together and alongside each other. Sally was always vibrant and bubbly, a sheer joy to be around. We became good friends, shared nights out and days together at Uttoxeter Races. Even going through the card one evening to our delight. Sally two things I ask of you, keep the door ajar and have the Pinot on ice. We will meet again.

Not too sure how to start putting together a 'tribute' to my dearest friend Sal. I've known her for many years, we met when Garfie was in the stable next to Tally at Eland Lodge. One evening, ready for the following day's activities, I had been diligently plaiting Garfie's mane (with a needle and cotton), Sal leaning on the stable door said, shall I show you a quicker and easier way, 2 or 3 minutes later, said mane was plaited (using plaiting bands) looking immaculate, and that's how our friendship started! A really special friend through the good times and not so good...I'll miss your mischievous nature, sense of fun, laughter and always being there as a wonderful trusted friend. You tackled this 'dreadful condition' right to the end with valiant courage and fortitude. I will miss you but I'm sure you'll always be around checking up on all of us...you left us too soon but no doubt one day we will meet again.

Sally is the sister of our good friend Fiona. Whenever we met at special occasions and the mucking out gathering Sally always had a smile on her face and lit up a room. Even towards the end of her life, she attended her nieces hen and despite all going on she beamed with love. Our thoughts are with Mike, Alison, Fiona, James, Abbie, Elsie & Izzy. Go jump that big hedge in the sky you lovely lady. RIP 💗
